Recreational Gymnastics
Our recreational gymnastics program begins at age 3 with Little Beams, where athletes develop core strength, coordination, foundational skills, and a love for the sport. At RGTC, we not only teach the fundamentals of gymnastics, but also encourage our athletes to believe in themselves, work hard, set goals, and develop the confidence to achieve them.
We currently offer girls’ gymnastics, as our facility does not have the equipment necessary for boys’ gymnastics. Boys are welcome to participate in our Little Beams program.
Athletes with previous gymnastics or Ninja experience at another gym will need an evaluation before enrolling in a class. Evaluations are available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 4:00 PM or 7:30 PM; Tuesday and Thursday at 12:00 PM; or by appointment. Please call our office at 704-882-7647 to schedule an evaluation.
Ribbon Promotion System
At RGTC, we use a ribbon system to recognize progress and help determine when athletes are ready to advance to the next level. Below, you’ll find the skills required for each ribbon and level.
Athletes are tested for ribbons once they have demonstrated proficiency in the required skills. We consider a skill proficient when an athlete can complete it correctly three times in a row without corrections. Because gymnastics is a skill-based sport, athletes must demonstrate skills safely, correctly, and consistently before advancing.
Once an athlete has earned all eight Beginner–Intermediate ribbons, they will receive a promotion sheet. Please bring the promotion sheet to the front desk to transfer into the appropriate next-level class.
Competitive Gymnastics
We run USAG Xcel and Development Programs. These groups are by invitation only and require a tryout. Please contact us at illuminationtc@gmail.com for more information.
